Optimize turns saved billing data into a ranked list of cost-saving actions for AWS, GCP, and Azure. Select one cloud connection to see what needs attention now, then open a focused page for deeper work.

How it works

  1. Connect a cloud account. Add an AWS, GCP, or Azure connection with billing read access.
  2. Choose the billing source. AWS uses the connected account. GCP and Azure ask you to select a readable billing scope directly inside Optimize the first time cost pages need one.
  3. Run the first scan. Optimize reads billing evidence, calculates Cost Health — a score of how efficiently the account spends — and asks an agent to verify savings findings (individual savings opportunities) with read-only cloud commands.
  4. Review the account snapshot. Overview ranks the most useful actions, services, and anomalies without hiding missing or stale evidence.
  5. Open the owning page. Use Cost Explorer, Findings, Anomalies, or Reports for the complete workflow.
The scan is read-only. A missing billing permission or billing source blocks Optimize for that connection, but it does not disconnect the cloud account.

What Overview shows

Overview totals cover the selected account even when it shows only the top three rows. A missing Cost Health score appears as Preparing, not zero. Azure can show spend and actions while Cost Health is unavailable.

Optimize destinations

The selected account stays in scope as you move between these destinations. Reports can instead use all connected Optimize accounts, with each account and currency kept separate.

Provider behavior

Provider billing evidence can arrive late. Optimize shows the last successful evidence and its freshness instead of treating a delayed refresh as zero spend.

Control the daily refresh

Every Optimize page header shows the selected account, an Updated timestamp for the saved evidence, and a Daily refresh switch once the first scan has produced cost data. Turning the switch on asks you to confirm, because the daily pull resumes spend on those agent runs. Turning it off applies immediately. The switch requires Optimize management permission.
